PM - a rock ballad

Nice song. The mix needs a little work, but I'm not schooled enough to tell you exactly what that work is. Reminds me very much of 80's rock/metal. You're a great player. What drum software is that?

as for the drums all I'm using right now is the ultrabeat feature in logic 9 which has worked for me and my songs thus far although i might be looking to upgrade when the opportunity arises

Quite a lot of 'noodling'...

The chorus has a gone a little overboard with phasers and distortion, doesn't really fit with the rest of the mix.
Sampled drums don't generally do it for me unless they have a lot more interest in them, these are a bit bland and too quantized, maybe a bit too strong in the mix which makes them a bit of a focal point.
 
Hi cobaltaudio thanks for the insight i may have been too set on having a contrast between the chorus and verse that i forgot to make sure they flow together and i'll look at dumming the drums down a bit as i tend to leave them a little bit loud in the mix as habit
