2nd one is better by far. How far away was the mic the first time? I definitely heard some room reverb (unless you added that as a plug-in first time, and not 2nd time) in the hi-mids which gave it that boxiness, I think.

the first version was about 3-4 foot away and also quite high up pointing down, thanks for listening, it would work in a really nice room though, just not in my room, the km84 is very very revealing of acoustic problems it seems.
