Missing MIDI sync seems to be the common flaw in all modern offerings
The generic sync solution is to record SMPTE code as audio on a track, and then have other devices sync from that. You need to be able the route the sync track to a separate output (I don't know how what the LiveTrak has to offer there, but on the otherwise popular Zoom R16 this is not possible at all) and you'll need an external device or two to generate and read the SMPTE code, and to convert it to MIDI clock which is what most synths use.
