Since my labtop does not have Firewire inputs, I needed to buy a Firewire Adapter to connect via PCI card in labtop. However, I found two similar Firewire adapter, yet a huge difference price.

Theres this one :Q-Stor Firewire

and there's this one: Dynex Firewire

What is the difference?

for recording you want a real quality Firewire interface, I believe the chipset you want to look for is one by Texas Instruments.

Do not skimp on the Firewire interface - it makes the difference between latency and communication problems, or a smooth interface between your Firewire device and computer!

Good luck...

Good luck finding that info, though. Personally, I'd buy the $15 card and if you run into problems, you're only out $15. :D
