Trying to get my Apex 420 play nice with Windows 10. Using Joe Meek VC3Q as preamp/phantom. Recording vocals to FL Studio. Results are distorted and chopped.
Background: Getting back into recording after many years. Was using my old Roland digital recorder. This mic still works fine with that. But I haven't been able to get acceptable results recording dirrectly to the computer. Since I'm completely new to setting up mics to record into Win 10 - FL Studio I am getting unacceptable fidelity. I'm guessing it's a Win 10 setting but I have played with everything and can't get it to lay down a decent vocal track without distortion.
I'm using an external USB audio adapter to bring in the signal from the VC3Q.
What am I missing?
Thanks,
Tony
