Tascam 244 Belts

After almost 20 years, I fired up my Tascam 244. The heads moved into position but disengaged. Rewind and FF seemed to work but record or play disengaged the heads. A tech said it's probably stretched belts. Does anyone have any input? All is welcome.

Yes, the control and capstan belts, available from TASCAM parts, will need to be changed.
