For a number of reasons avoid this guy when buying tape.

1. When I ordered some tape form him some time ago he sent the wrong tape. It turns out he was out of the kind I wanted, so he sent a different type, which he judged to be similar without even asking. It wasn’t even level or bias compatible with what I ordered. He also double charged my credit card. When I called to make him aware of it he charged it a third time “by accident” instead of refunding. It took weeks to get straightened out. From my experience his negative feedback on eBay is right on.

2. He regularly lists tape on eBay with incorrect information. For example describing EMTEC 911 or 3M 250 as “Similar to AMPEX/Quantegy 499.” I emailed him about these mistakes and he agreed he had it wrong but continues to list new auctions with the same misleading info.

3. He sells a lot of old so-called one-pass tape like 3M 226, which hasn’t been manufactured since early 90’s. I really wonder how one-pass it could be. A lot of this old tape suffers from sticky shed and he knows it, or should know it.

4. He’s selling “New” BASF SM911 on 14-inch reels that he claims was made in 2005. EMTEC wasn’t even making new tape in 2005, much less BASF branded like he has pictured.

In general his claims and business practices say he doesn’t know what the hell he is doing (or knows exactly what he’s doing and is counting on a clueless clientele to keep him in business).

Let the buyer beware…. Remember the frog… and avoid it.

I bought some tape from this guy a few years ago. I got excellent 1 pass 2" tape. I guess he has gone downhill over time.

I guess I will avoid.
