Cool 4 channel Dolby Unit

That unit looks like to be a companion piece to some of TEAC's earliest quad recorders and not nearly as user friendly as the later dbx pieces which were pretty much plug and play type devices.

Dolby B, at best, is going to offer 10db of noise reduction in the treble range of frequencies and won't offer much in the way of headroom extension or adjacent channel cross-talk reduction as dbx would so employing these units into a multi-track setup is of limited value...though they do look very cool! :)

Cheers! :)

Excellent links, Doc. :)

According to the brochure scan, the AN-300 was $439 in the year ..... ? It obviously was from around the mid 70's so taking this into account, the year 1977, for example, and you have this. Interesting price.:D

speaking of 23/33-40s, Steve, are you getting one or what? Gotta have one :)

Mike, I saw that concertone. I've got it them on my ebay radar. I'd love to hear one in good working order. I bet they sound great. The 2340sx I'm still keeping my eyes open for. Either locally or a good ebay deal. I bid on one a few weeks ago but I'm not going too high right now.

I bought an AN-80 on ebay a couple years ago for $20.00. The seller sent me the reciept he still had when he bought it new in the mid 70s. $275.00  Nice unit, it's got the 2 VU meters, looks real cool.

Yup! :) I should post some pics of mine here. I still haven't figured out what the transformer is for in relation to those balanced output things. I'd like to find a manual for it. I bought a magazine it was featured in from the fifties. :D It had some info in it, but not much.
