Hi

I am trying to make this work, and i am not sure where the problem is

I have a xlr to 3.5mm jack cable (balanced) with the sound card xi-fi titanium sound blaster , and when i plug in the shure pg42 with the cable i have there is no response of any kind

interestingly when i plug the cable in the motherboard mic in line again no response

is it maybe the cable which is not right?

for the cable i have there is two option abut i have only one of the cables

the other option(which i would have to buy) is the xlr to 3.5mm stereo to mono , or is it something else which is the problem here?

I endorse everything Arcaxis said. Yes, you can buy a phantom power adaptor but you'll still be feeding your audio into a Sound Blaster card, which despite all the advertising hype is a gamers' card, not really suitable for any kind of audio recording beyond Skype calls.

For what you spent on the SB card you could have had one that actually does what you want--and spending money on a phantom power adaptor is good money after bad.
