Yamaha TG100 tone generator/sound module

idiots unite!
G'day people,
just 'won' a Yamaha TG100 (midi module/Tone Generator) off e-bay.
It was going for a very resonable price, so I (k)nabbed it.
I've been looking into keyboard midi modules for a little while now, but have always used the onboard sounds on my synths and sound cards...thought it might make a bit of a musical/technical change to some of my styles.

Question...do any of you guys own or have experience with this particular unit?..
More importantly, wotdurekon of this unit in general?
I thankyou,
Spit.

Anyways....all operational,....ok/nice ...but a little on the thin sounding side.
And no LCD backlight!....geeesh!
Piss easy to use but!

Here is some info and reviews on the TG100...

There are those who have the philosophy that every keyboard (in this case a module), no matter how humble or obsure, has some unique sound(s) that can be exactly what is called for in a specific musical situation. Perhaps the TG100 will give you that one sound you are looking for in some future project.

Hey, thanx mt...
I figure that for the price of $75aus, it maybe worth it just for that one tone/sound....:)
ace drums though I am finding!! :)
poor 'realistic' emulations I am finding too!
Think I'm going to look for something else with a more realistic 'grand piano' sound now....in hardware form.:D
cheers,
spit.
