LOL, thats funny. but to the guy with the stuff on his paltop,
1. What speed/memory laptop and brand do u have
2. what are u using for a sequencer
3. what are you using for soft synths (meaning synth and general piano, bass, guitar, etc sounds)
4. are you using a oxygen 8 for traveling (controller) or what?

I do alot of traveling and have thought about a laptop with something like cubase sx + reason. i dont know much about softsynth stuff

So enlighten me :) where to start, type laptop, seq, softsynth, etc :) :) :)

Compaq Presario 2580 w/P4 @ 2.7gHz 512 meg memory.

My sequencer is Tracktion and I run Reason and Live as ReWire slaves.

Softsynths:

RGC Zeta 3
RGC Triangle II
GMedia ImpOscar
Arturia Minimoog
NI Reaktor Session
Sonic Charge MicroTonic

Controllers:

Oxygen 8
Peavey PC1600x midi fader

General softsynth and plugin information here.

anp. anp. a truly great midi sequencer for pc is what i use.
powertracks. read the god knows how many user kudos at pgmusic.com
if you dont believe me.
try the demo. blah blah. fall in love like i did.
nothing comes close for midi work. even does lead sheets, notation editing etc etc. drop chords. jazz fonts and a whole bunch of other stuff.
if you know anything about midi, a lot of midi experts use it.
it will even do intelligent stuff like you load in a midi file ,
and it will tell you the chords , if you dont know them.
for pc i recommend an amd athlon, 512 ram. two drives 7200 rpm on seperate channels. peace.
heres some great tutorials...
