D'Addario EXP (Coated) Strings

Im a huge fan of the EXPs.... WARNING!!!....they are extremely bright, but hit a sweet spot after about 2 days and last for a good 2-3 weeks and Im a heavy player.

These really work well on darker sounding guitars like Mahogany or Jumbo sizes.

On a side note, Ibanez puts these on all of their new acoustics, so I have lots of people freaking out about how a $200 Ibanez can sound brighter/better than a mid range quitar thats $600.

Bottom line? If you like coated stings or bright strings, but ya dont want to spend $20 on elixers.... you might want to try em!

I much prefer the EXPs to Elixirs on my main acoustic. Note that there are 2 different models, the Phosphor Bronze and the 80/20 bronze. I prefer the phosphor bronze, which are not as bright, although they are both decent.

They are the only coated strings I will ever use, though I still don't think they are worth the cost most of the time. I do use them for festivals, though, when lots of people will be playing the guitars.
