Hybrid Sets?

I am interested in an acoustic/electronic set because it seems like the best way to end the debate between the acoustic and electronic war. My question is, has anyone played one before? How good are they? Is there anything in particular I should be looking for?

Define a "hybrid" kit?

A hybrid kit could be a drumkit with an acoustic kick and snare, and electronic toms.Or an acoustic kit, but with a trigger on the kick and snare to reinforce them with a triggered sound.


Or, it could be an acousic kit with mesh heads, and triggers so that the "acoustic" drums produce no sound - they just generate a signal for an electronic sound source (such as a Roland TD-8) to use as a trigger pulse. (i.e., This is what is called a "stealth" kit....it looks acoustic, but the sound is electronic.)
