I've got a real obscurity for you........I bought an album one time because of the cover ( do you remember doing this? You had never heard of the band, but the cover was cool, and if the lineup was guitar, bass, and drums,YOU BOUGHT IT).......

Edward Bear.

Nowhere Canuk band, but very interesting cover graphics.

Reading this thread is like a nightmare flashback. I'd mercifully forgotten all this junk, but you just HAD to bring it up again! 8-)

Man, some of you people must be even older than me...

Ten Years After? I'm sure they have been mentioned. But how many remember that Alvin Lee reformed the band and called it Ten Years Later? I remember at least one album.

lmao at you guys mentioning the bands from Oz.........

Billy Thorpe, Sherbert, Rose Tattoo, Jo Jo Zep and The Falcons. Most of these guys are still around although Thorpey is basically a solo act with backing musos and Rose Tattoo still fire occassionaly. Joe Camellieri?(aka Jo Jo Zep) followed up on the Falcons with The Black Sorrows and has another band going at the moment.

I wonder how many people post here without reading this from the beginning cause there have been numerous double-ups on bands mentioned.............and maybe some mentioned that were better forgotten.............
ah well, what the hell it's all fun.

Peace.........ChrisO

Ausrock, you are right............there are some bands that have been mentioned a few times. But think about the new guys who are just entering this thread...they are excited about sharing their thrills, and the bands that they looked up to.There are still more bands out there that we are forgetting (as you said, some better forgotten :D ).I started this whole thing, and never realized the response would be so big!!! I am humbled. There are so many avenues.....one hit wonders (like Frigid Pink.....remember their cover of House of the Rising Sun?),and the biggies that were around in the '70s,filling stadiums, that kids today would go "huh?"...........like Uriah Heep (go ahead...ask your average 15-18 year old if he or she has heard of them) or Mountain.
Keep going,guys!!
God Bless --------the Tweedster
