My equipment is used only for recording/playing acoustic guitar

1. Pres
Pendulum MDP-1A Tube Pre
Pendulum SPS-1 Acoustic Guitar Pre
Rane AP-13 Acoustic Guitar Pre
Rane DMS 22 Pre
John Hardy M-2 Pre

2. Signal Processing
TC Electronics M2000
Lexicon MPX100
Behringer T1951 tube parametric eq

3. Mix/Power/DAW
Hafler P3000 amp
Digi001 box
Soundcraft M4 board (11 rack spaces)

There's two generations of items. Several of the items have been replaced, although I still have the original items (e.g., I first bought the MPX100 but have upgraded to the M2000). With a few decent mics, this system records well. I play out at gigs with some of it too.

I plan on selling the earlier stuff (AP13, DMS22, MPX100, T1951). I'm using plug-ins for eq, compression and reverb when recording (McDSP FilterBank, McDSP MC2000 and RealVerb). I use a pair of Neumann KM184s, a Neumann TLM103 and a Sunrise magnetic pickup for recording 4 channels for the guitar.

Forgot to add:
RME ADI Pro 8 AD and DA converter

Art Studio mp, only sorta works
Shure sm58

uugh... i bought a new toob for the ART? Which i can't actually test cause i have no cable to plug the mic into it. my friend borrowed it and lost it...

Went to the shop again...

add to the above list:

Digidesign 888 interface
Digidesign VSD unit
Digidesign expansion unit
Opcode 64x

( so that would make a total of over 120 units rackspace!)

Mine? Nothing you'd get woodies over.

A Zoom 1201
An *cough*Alesis3630*cough*
A Behringer Dualfex Pro
An Evans AE205

But they're not in a rack.

Dr.Colossus, why do you have a composer pro xl AND an autocom pro??? Which do you prefer?

they are both very very different.... the comp xl has a tube sim (can be nice) and a peak limiter, and is a lot smoother than the autocom... i use the composer pro xl for vocals and accoustic guitars sometime a touch on overheads beacuse it much nicer when dealing with detailed sounds... the autocom is my drum comp, snare and bass drum it doesn't colour the (imho) as much as the com xl, and it just does its job...

perhaps the big difference in sound is behri q.c. but in a blind test there is no way some one could guess these two comps are from the same manufacturer..

to answer your second question i am very happy with both of them
