Ibanez RG550 ex

I paid £800 (roughly $1,312.72) pound for my Ibanez Rg 550 Ex Black Sparkle a couple of years ago. The V7 and V8 pickups are amazing!!! And i managed to get a free Ibanez hard flightcase.

A little over $2k for my Bongo 5 HHP. It was worth it to me at the time, but I had a great paying day job then. I wouldn't do it today, but I'm not selling it, either.

Apparently I didn't quite have G.A.S., when I replied 5 years ago, but since then my collection has grown to 23 total, and I've got several partscasters in the works. Currently, my most expensive guitar is my 1996 MIJ Fender VI (a.k.a. Bass VI) that I found for $750.00 used at Sam Ash in Indianapolis. Not sure what it'd fetch now, but when I bought it 2 years ago, somebody at another guitar forum told me I could easly see $1,400.00 for it on eBay. At the time, Fender Custom Shop N.O.S. Bass VI's were listed for $2,500.00 through Musician's Friend.

Besides that, I've also bought a Gibson Les Paul Faded Double Cut via the 3-payment plan through American Musical Supply. The outright price, then, was $750.00, but it's really only one of two that I've paid the most for, as such I MIGHT get what I paid for the Gibson, via eBay, where I'd stand a better chance if I was to eBay the Bass VI. There's really no chance I'd part with either, so what they'd be worth would be more speculative than anything. Eventually, I'll get around to modifying the Les Paul FDC, along with my Les Paul Melody maker (ca. 2004) with locking tuners, roller bridges and Bigsby B5 vibratos.

I paid $550.00 in 1993 for my 1968 gibson sg special (talked 'em down from $600 :p:rolleyes:). By far the most I ever spent on a guitar. I have not bought another since.

Wazzup St. Louis! Where are ya?

I know what you're saying about the foreign stuff. I sometimes go for quantity over quality--cause I love to mod and add some quality of my own. I've got 9 guits that were $500 or less. (Thought some of those went over that after new pickups and other mods.) I've got 3 or 4 in the 500 - 1000 range, and one that was just over $1000.

I've got two build projects on the bench right now, a Frankenstrat with mostly foreign parts--but I expect it'll keep up with my American Strat, and a completely custom job--based on the Music Man Axis. Funny thing is that while they say it's cheaper to do it yourself, when I'm done with the custom job, it'll end up being the most expensive guitar I own. And that's not counting tons of hours.

Oh yeah--and I'm jonesing for a 70's Cherry Sunburst LP Deluxe--if that day ever comes, that'll be the most expensive one.

And then I'll stop. I promise. (That's in case my wife reads this.)
I live in West County, currently going to Webster U. :) You live in Saint Louis?

I've got a Frankenstrat as well. It was a Squier Fat Strat (the black one with the hideous mirror pickguard if any of you have seen the model) that me and my dad fixed up with a Fender neck, hardtail bridge, GFS pickups (PAF and P90) and a new non-gloss coat on the body. Total cost was probably only around $400, and it is a hell of a workhorse.

I'm starting to want another guitar with P90's though... when I was shopping for my Casino, I tried out one of those P90'd Godins, and I've come to regret not getting it. Great playing and sounding guitar, and cheaper than the Casino.

I'm in Waterloo--down 270 & just across the JB--but I work at 270 & Page. Lived in the city (Tower Grove area) until just a few years ago. Always good to see another local on the board!

Howdy neighbor. I'm in Marissa.

Paid $5100 for a Rick Turner Model 1 C-LB a few months ago. That's my last guitar and the nicest I've ever owned.

I paid roughly $1100.00 for my '96 PRS CE22...man, I love that guitar!

I think mine was about 20.00 from Sears. I've used it on a small tree and an old stump that has been in the yard for years.

2k ouch. Yummy though. When I figure what I have spent on one guitar over 20 + years = 2k, maintenance strings etc. Does that count. OOOh upcoming post on amplifier. SE goodness.:):)

$2200.00 for my Modulus 5 string bass. I wish I had a pic to post of it. Spalted maple with clear gloss finish, graphite neck w/resin fingerboard, no fret markers, Bartolini dual pu's. She's purty and sounds amazing. phenominal flexability from snap and sizzle to warm and fat. The low "B" is as solid as the best I've heard from any other manufactuerer. I could easily have spend 3x that much and gotten an inferior instument. IMO.

If you dig bass, check out Modulus. http://www.modulusguitars.com/v3/

€600 for my ESP vintage Strat with bridge humbucker and FR. It's worth more than twice that, but i got it from a friend.

my Ric Dakota was probably the most expensive...like 1000 or so...it was brand new and Ive had it for 12 yrs or so...but I think used guitars usually feel better...got a fender mustang used...got a fender strat 57 reissue used...got an 87' japanese fender P bass used...all are awesome...

My MIM Deluxe Fender Roadhouse Stratocaster. $440, normally $600-$800, It;s was discounted to $550 for some reason and then I talked GC down to $440 I rule. I love that guitar.

BC Rich NJ Series ASM - $90 on eBay. It was missing some hardware, and the dude selling it didn't know anything about BC Riches. I lucked out, snagged it, replaced the parts and been playing it since.

BC Rich Platinum Series Beast - $200 on eBay. Black with silver tapers, and diamond inlays. This guitar is beautiful and it sounds nice and heavy for metal.

BC Rich NJ Series Ironbird - this is a full restoration in progress. Got it for $150 at a pawn shop. I lucked out on it too, since I NEVER find Ironbirds around here, much less NJs.

Ibanez AX7221 7-string - paid $350 for it.

Right now, the Ibanez is the one I've paid the most for. But I think after I'm done with the Ironbird, it might peak that, but not by much.

Yes, I'm a big BCR fan. I love them. I mainly play metal, and they fit the bill quite nicely.

The most expensive guitar I've purchased to-date was a '87 Jackson Custom Soloist which ran around $1700 or so in '87.

$289 for my 72 Fender Tele Standard with Fender hardshell case. Of course that was in 72! It's now worth about 20X that!
