BTW, I actually used to own a leisure suit (early '70's I believe). I guess maybe I'm not as pimply-faced as you might have originally thought.

It always made me shudder..so I just never used it..

I have actually said that a few times and castigated myself thouroughly afterwards !

The English language is getting beaten pretty badly these days...

I'm gonna use 'er as much as I can before she disappears under a sea of slang and non sequitors !

The english language is a constantly evolving amalgam of many countries and cultures. If this were not the case, we would be stuck like the french with their institute for ensuring correct use of their language.

If something isn't growing it's dead.

Ever tried to read Chaucer's original english? Thank the lord we have evolved away from that!

Certainly the language is evolving..
So is music...
The difference is that music is(in my opinion) growing, and language is shrinking.
Kids today play better than we ever thought of..
But the lyrics are just lousy most of the time.

Electronics and computers have opened up great new capabilities
for musicians....while lyrics sink deeper and deeper into a blur of mindless drivel !

Uh Oh....I'm ranting and making more enemies........

Have been listen to some of your stuff, sounds great!! What was it recorded on?

Thanks Porter...

The songs were recorded in a variety of ways...
Some of it was 16 track analog..some 8 track analog..and the newer cuts were done on a Roland VS880....
The drums and keyboards were all sequenced as well as most of the bass parts.
The sounds are Korg and the drums are an Alesis SR 16
I played all the guitars and sang all the vocals..
There are a few cuts that feature a couple of the ladies that work in my band.
The sequencing was all done on an Alesis MMt8.

I had a terrible fire that took my studio and equipment...
We were uninsured and the financial loss was horrific.

All of the keyboards and modules and outboard gear that made these recordings is gone as well as the board and 16 track.

When I started recording again I got the roland and a couple of cheap modules and off I went.

My mmt8 just died and that's why I'm forcing myself to learn Cakewalk.

Hahahahaaaa....Well...I'm glad that got resolved. I was in quite a quandary there. I haven't seen this thread until today and I open it up and see two crothetty old guys I have a lot of respect for baring the sabres :D. I’m glad you guys got things sorted.

From the short time I’ve known Bob on-line I have to say he is one knowledgeable cat. As is the almighty Dachay. Just in different areas. I am thrilled there are two such knowledgeable folks in one place :)

I read this thread and thought I'd drop you a note. I had to learn the hard way as well but after you get one concept regarding computers and music, the next comes easier.
