I've been using a PC to write most of my music lately. I love the odd sounds and rythmic patterns that can be used with ease but I feel myself getting stuck in the main groove and consequently.... "the song remains the same." I've gotten some tunes posted and would like opinions on these...

Sorry to say it but you chould be cranking a lot more tracks than that. Especially if you aren't using any inserts/plugins/vst instruments. What kind of hard drives do you have? Who is the manufacture? etc... anything else that you can think that is system specific would help.

Man... I really didn't like the VAZ interface.... I tried the GRM tools from Steinberg and loved the outcome.... any experience with other plugin's along those lines?

I'm inclined to say it is your hd performance. You also might need to tweek on your buffer and memory settings. I use a PC so I can't help to much there..... G.L.

I'm new to ReCycle (few hours) and I want some advice and tips if you have any... My first REX file had bad timming issues but I imported onto a mono track and the file had a ton of slices...... I've read that "any' tracks work better but that's all I know.... any suggestions

I like my 8*24. The MIDI works just as well as my USB device. The only problems I ever had were the stupid ASIO drivers but after a few updates and some settings tweaks I got down to an 11ms audio latency. Not perfect (what is?) but the drivers have "plug in delay compensation" and that helped...

Yes it does sound like a sdcd issue. Look into you ASIO settings under the audio/settings tab. If you have a pro sound card then you need to use the most recent ASIO drivers for that card... if SoundBlaster: then it should work well with the ASIO multimedia driver..... what's your set up?

Yes.... maybe..... Make sure that you study the .pdf manual like you would study for finals. It can get really deep sometimes but it is well worth it... if you dont have the .pdf then go to the Steinberg page and get it.... that is key! Now as far as getting started I would need to know what...

If that don't work... then try setting everything up, give it a preview, and then mute everything excluding the recorded track.... that should work.

Here we go..... You will not be converting MIDI to audio but... you will be using the MIDI to trigger your sound generator(guitars, synths, Drums) and recording the sound that it makes. I'm not fimiliar w/ the Powertracks deal... but there are programs that sequence and play both MIDI and wav...

Don't think the best... think what will work for less....... Mackie has a great reputation so you might want to check them out.... I think the cheap ones start around $200 or $300 but... the best ones are around $2000 and up!

This is my ending..... switch your sample rate to 48 kHz for cleaner wavs.... also go w/ the 2.08 driver (recommended by GadgetLabs tech support) L8R
