I recorded a band this weekend and i recorded their bass direct and it sounded okay for their sound. I have a beta 52, but i use that on the kick. Would my sennheiser 421 be okay for micing a bass cab? I know it has a really broad dynamic range, so it might be okay.....Maybe i should go try...

I just bought this mic pre-amp the other day and i'm quite impressed with it. It has a really warm, natural sound. I recommend it. Anyone else own one here?

For example, in my case. I have built in compression, effects and eq's on my consule. Is it worth getting rack compression, effects and eq's? Is there a big difference in sound? If so, what do you guys recomend for a good compresser, etc? Thanks, J

Okay, i know the difference between them, blah blah blah. But i just got my moniters a while ago and ive been using balanced cabels on the moniters even though it says i should use unbalanced. The sound is fine, no buzzing or any weird noise. Is it very important that i get unblanced cabels...
