Do you compress individual channels, the sub channels and/or the main mix for say a common 5 piece rock band(guitars, keys, bass, drums, vocals)? Why?

I know it's not optimal but I'm starting to see it as pretty common. The volume knobs are just attenuators anyhow so it kinda makes sense to get your power from the amps built for power. How many of you guys run them maxed out or do you get some of your gain from the boards?

This is me on guitar with my buddy John on Fox23 for the CP telethon playing the Ramones version of What a Wonderful World.

I am just learning piano and I have a harmonics interval training where you start both hands playing these notes together cd ce cf cg ca cb cc. When I get to the cc both the left and right hand are supposed to play middle c. Which thumb do I use?:confused:

I'm on my third reading of the manuals(german to english always tuff) but haven't been able to figure this out. My keyboard always starts on like Program 55, a drum program and I'd like it to start up on Program 1, the Grand Piano. Anyone know how to do this? I'd appreciate it, thank you.

My point is you won't hear a difference unless you exceed 50'.

How much headroom is used up by this? If you aren't pushing your masters to be extra loud does fixing the offset make any difference?
