Ooops. What I meant by question number 3 is can you record 8 inputs to 8 seperate tracks in your software with USB? At one point I thought I read that that will only work with firewire interfaces, and that USB only allowed 2 track recording.

So, I just bought an Alienware 14x. I've been recording for years on my desktop, but this is the first time I've tried to use a laptop. Obviously, the Realtek crap card isn't working very well (interestingly it works pretty good in Ubuntu with Audour 2, but in Windows 7 using Sonar 7 it sucks...

Ok, I'm looking at getting some monitors. What are "bi-amped" monitors, and is it better to get bi-amped, or active monitors that aren't bi-amped. Does this mean that only one speaker is powered, and it powers the other speaker with a patch chord?
