I was listening to the mars volta recently, and i was struck by how loud the mastering was. i looked at the waveform and almost entire songs were clipping, yet it doesnt sound terrible. im sure if i were to try something similar, it would turn out horribly. i'm not saying that louder is better...

yes its a wierd title. it actually makes sense in a strange way though. it certainly wont sound anything like what you might expect from that title. anyhow, this is the second thing i've put up here, so go easy. =P i know there are a couple mistakes, esp with the drums and the piano at the end...

I need something for the singer to monitor with that wont bleed onto a vocal track and something for the drummer (and for myself when i'm practicing)...

I'm micing my drums with MXL 603s as overheads, sm57 on snare, d112 on kick and akg c418s on the toms.
