I have a Soundcraft Spirit F1 mixing board. It provides phantom power for condenser mics but it's either on for the full board or off, in other words, it can't be assigned to individual channels. I use condenser mics for acoustic guitar and I have a Shure SM58 for vocals. If I switch on phantom...
I got them from www.equipmentcenter.de for 300 euro shipped. Best price I could find by far.
I hooked them up earlier on and I'm having a ball with them. Listened to some of my own mixes, and -- ouch! These are going to help me out a lot, as indeed they were intended to do.
Then listened to...
Cool stuff! I got my Wharfedale 8.2As today and I'm a smilin'! Just popped in to mention how happy I am with them and saw your thread and thought I'd say congrats.
It's a good day :)
I'm after a pair of sound-isolating ear-plug headphones for my iPod and have read very good reviews of the Etymotic Research headphones:

There are several types, the top of the range being the ER4P MicroPro. There is an optional cable that changes these from ER4P into...

I have a MindPrint Di-Port which has monitor-out phono sockets. My Terratec EWX 2496 soundcard also has phono socket monitor outs.

I'm after a pair of the coveted Wharfedale Diamond Pro 8.2 monitors and wondered if someone could give me details of an online dealer in Europe. UK is fine, or BeNeLux France or Germany would keep shipping down.
Thanks
Jock

I then reseated the soundcard into a different PCI slot...
AFAIK, the page file should go on a different physical drive to the OS, so, in your case, the SATA.
Just curious: how noisy is the Raptor? I considered one for my new DAW but opted out as I thought it would be too difficult to silent and would add too much heat to the system.
I have a Terratec EWX 2496 soundcard and am using WinXP Pro. I plugged in a pair of Cambridge Soundworks satellite speakers directly to the phono output sockets of the soundcard but got no sound.
On my old system, I used these speakers as part of the Cambridge DeskTop Theater 5.1 DTT2200 set...
I've read that RAID 0 arrays are only really worthwhile if you're dealing with really big files, such as video or huge raw images.
I've been researching my planned system for about three months and it's been a steep learning curve!
