Before I rush out and order active monitors, I'm wondering where they would go in my chain and whether passives would be better.
I have a MindPrint Di-Port which has monitor-out phono sockets. My Terratec EWX 2496 soundcard also has phono socket monitor outs.
The signal is digitised at the Di-Port and then travels via SPDIF to the soundcard. The Soundcard's digital out goes back to the Di-Ports digital in. So, where would be the best place for the monitors, or would it not make a difference?
And I'm presuming active monitors would be a better bet in this particular case? It would be the Wharfedale DP 8.2A monitors I would choose.
