    MIDI is stuttering!

I thik I got it Hi, thanks for replying again. I'm sequencing with Cubase. The problem seems to have gone away (fingers crossed), though. I disabled the automatice update feature and closed all the unnecessary programs running with "enditall". Stutttering hasn't hapenned yet, so I'm hoping...

    MIDI is stuttering!

Hi, The SC8850 is a module. I have the "midi out" from my Layla24 soundcard going to the "midi in" of the SC8850. Then I have the "audio out" from the SC8850 going to a Mackie mixer, which goes into the "audio in" of the Layla24. Thanks, Lee

    MIDI is stuttering!

I'm using a Roland SC8850 connected to a Layla 24, connected to a new Dell 8200 P4 w/512 RAM running at 1.7 ghz with Windows XP Home Edition. Ever since I got the computer, the midi playback has been stuttering, with some notes cutting out, etc. Some I've spoken too blame the XP, others blame...

    HELP! please? :-)

I just installed a new Layla 24 and I can't get my Cubase to record anything. I think I've exhausted y limited knowledge and still can't get anything to record. I see input levels on the Layla console, but get nothing in Cubase. Anyone had similar problems? Thanks in advance. Lee

Layla 24 And My Roland Sc8850

Hi, I don't know whether to post this in the Event or Cubase forum, but here goes. I just installed a Layla 24 into my Dell P4 computer. I have the PCI card inside the computer, with the audio interface on my rak and hooked into the PCI card. My Roland SC8850 (midi module) is connected to...

    Studio Cables?

Thanks! You're right about 333K words about cables. Your advice makes the most sense to me, though, so I'll give it a try.

    Studio Cables?

Can anyone tell me what they think is the best cable to use for studio equipment? (patching my Layla to a mixer, etc.)? lee

    What software

Can't you import the midi track(s) into Cakewalk and then record them on an audio track? That's what I do with Cubase. Record each midi track separately onto an audio track, then mix all the audio tracks together (or in the case of Cubase, I can just export all the audio tracks and they will...

Jim, Thanks so much for the reply. The Layla 24 is on it's way to me by Fed Ex right now! Can't wait. Do you have a website where I can listen to any of your stuff? Post it if you do. Aloha, Lee http://mp3.com/leemuller

    Layla 24 with Windows XP?

Hi, Has anyone had any experiences yet with the Layla 24 and Windows XP? They say they ship with XP drivers but I just had a bad experience with my Roland UA100 that was supposed to have the new XP drivers (so they claimed). I want to purchase a Layla 24 but want to investigate everything...

USB or Not? Any Consensus on Use?

USB worked for me Hi, I've used a Roland UA100 Audio Canvas hooked into the USB port of my computer for about 2 years without any problems. It acts as an external soundcard, and allows you to plug a guitar and/or a microphone right into the unit. Pretty simple setup too. Got a Roland Sound...

    tell me what you think...

In the pocket Yep, I liked it! Can't give you any advice as technical as you've been getting, but I can tell you your stuff is "in the pocket", and that's half the battle right there. Can't wait to hear the panned version. You're right about MP3 taking a long time to approve songs, though...

New song for all the lonely people

You've got a good one here.. Hi Shana, I just downloaded and listened to "Better Off This Way". Did you write it? I think it's a great song. I wish I could write like that. I would like to have heard it at a slower tempo, though. The tempo it's at now seems a bit rushed and never really...
