    Guitar amp poll

I recently got a Bugera G5. With an EQ pedal in the effects loop it sounds amazing. Perfect for what I do. And the price is right.

Need Help & Opinions On Planned $250 Recording Setup Before Buying

I've been using a line 6 ux 2 that I found on sale for $120 (normally $199) and reaper ($60 for the license) for my DAW for about 2yrs now. Both really user friendly. I haven't had a single problem with either one

    Another work in progress

All good points and they're all noted. Most of the vocal problems are caused by my lack of confidence and the fact that I'm temporarily set up in my basement, not the ideal 'room' for vocals. But I'm sure I was bumping the mic stand. Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment

Thanks DoolittleKid. Most of my stuff does have somewhat of a dark vibe to it. the vocals do have a minimal amount of reverb, but they really just need to be re done, which I will do eventually. I'm in the process of working on an EP right now and I doubt that song will make the cut any way...

    Another work in progress

Thanks wally. Thats alot of useful information. I know there are issues with the levels/mix, I would never consider that to be a final mix of any kind, especially with that one shot vocal take and the lead guitar is close to what I want but not quite. I'm just getting comfortable with a new...

I can't sing and I've always been afraid to even try...with that said, here's a song about stepping out of that comfort zone and changing for the better. What do you guys think? STEP OUTSIDE by Stoneface on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free

My latest original - Just a lie...

Wow. Sounds great Robby. Very few issues here, so I don't have any real constructive criticism to offer. Just wanted to say well done.

    How's my acoustic guitar tone?

I like the sound. Being that its just guitar, it should sound nice and thick like that. You're really close.

    Sounds good or sucks?

None of it sucks by any means (I couldn't get 'My Flight' to play for some reason) Undertow was my favorite, just a personal preference not necessarily the best mix. I'm no expert, but to be the drums fall flat in every song, except maybe aAnthem for the Nameless (which to me might be the best...

Possibly the first song for our EP. Thoughts?

Thanks dreib. I like the lo-fi intro suggestion, the intro guitar was supposed to be panned to one side, lo-fi would probably sound cool. We've been bouncing back and forth as to whether to do a more melodic sounding chorus or not, both of us are very much just starting out trying to sing, but...

Possibly the first song for our EP. Thoughts?

Thanks Triple M. There's a definite issue with getting EZ Drummer to sound like I want it, but I'm working on it. As far as my guitars, I do get some criticism for my love of reverb, I'll work on that as well. And we know a final vocal take will definitely have to be stronger. Thanks for taking...

Possibly the first song for our EP. Thoughts?

Thanks again for that. We were already thinking Pantera-ish for vocals. We'll keep at it. If anyone else has any suggestions, Im all ears.

Possibly the first song for our EP. Thoughts?

Thanks for the feedback guys. And yes the drums are EZ Drummer, the first song I've completed using EZ drummer (before it, Ive used a dr rhythm drum machine for years). Let me as you this, as far as disliking the vocals, do you not like the talking/growling type vocals or do you just think he...

    Upsampling - 44.1k to 48k

I dont know if this is correct, but Ive been told, if you plan on changing the audio like that, you should record at the higher rate and then downsample. In other words, record at 48k or higher (most DAWs support many different qualities) and the downsample to 44.1 for the purpose of the CD. If...
