    The divorce song

I'm sure this isn't the right place for this, but who cares. After 34 years of marriage, I'm getting a divorce. I'm in the process of tearing down the studio, and boxing up stuff. Most likely, a lot of it will be sold, since it's not getting used enough to justify the cost. Just want to say...

Fake Drums. How bad is it? Version 2

So here is the same song I posted earlier with a completely different drum track. I ditched the "disco on steroids" kit, and put on a brush kit. Better? https://www.box.com/shared/static/nr3p3waasdd4dw30b2es.mp3 Here's a better mix with cymbals, hats, backed off some...

    Lend Your Ear

I worked a while on this mix for the "Mix This" forum and posted a couple of weeks ago. Just trying to work on my mixing skills. I was hoping to get some feedback on the mix, but I must have been too late, and the thread seems dead (maybe I killed it?). The song is "Fraud" by The Jongleurs...

Fake Drums. How bad is it?

I know everyone hates the sound of fake drums, but some of us have no choice. Here's my first attempt at adding midi drums to a song. Be brutally honest about what's good and what's not. To all you drummers out there. What would make it sound better? Thanks in advance...

    Mama Llama

Here's a tune for everyone who's ever wanted their own llama (don't we all?). https://www.box.com/shared/static/wb5zjpoz3jqc09hluzal.mp3

    New mix

I dug another old one out from 2007 and spiffed it up a bit. Let me know what's good or bad. It's called Photographs. Here's the mix: https://www.box.com/shared/static/3e0yamfnituvli7uc4ow.mp3

    Baby Steps

Recorded this a long time ago, before discovering this forum, so I dug it up, added some things and re-mixed it. I thought I'd post it up to see how it's mixed. It's called baby steps, written for a couple who was struggling to have a child...

    Is this mix any good?

Haven't recorded much lately so I've been working on mixing skills and techniques. Re-did this Tania Nederway song. Any mix feedback is, as always, appreciated. https://www.box.com/s/a6259e905b918039a7fc Revised mix: https://www.box.com/s/eeb1665893c5582f2ee0 Revision two...

    Acoustic Song, Final Mix?

After a long break, we're back at it and taking a fresh look at five songs for a new EP. We're trying to prepare some final mixes. Would love feedback on this first one. I posted this awhile back, but I made some changes. Is it ready for print? Beards 2012_02_16.mp3 - File Shared from Box...

Need Your help on this one.

I've spent hours recording and working on this mix FOR FREE for a local gal, who initially said she loved it. Now she wants to cut out the fiddle, second acoustic guitar, pad, and mandolin and just leave it with her vocals and lone acoustic guitar. I actually think this mix sounds way fuller...

Any one interested in a collab effort?

I posted this song earlier. Thought it might be fun to add some parts. I hear possibilities for mandolin, fiddle, dobro, keys, pads, drums, even some electric guit if tastefully done, with enough tremolo to make a grown man cry. Lots of possibilities If you're interested, let me know and...

    Simple Acoustic Song

Just recorded this tonight for fun. I find this gal's voice has a very interesting quality to it. Friend of a son of a friend kinda deal. Hope she wants to record some more. See what you think. Speed mix: http://www.box.net/shared/static/hfrhu955piccde8rfjjs.mp3 Redemptive Mix...

    Interesting Video

A couple of years ago we put out a song called "Orphan Train". Apparently a grade school teacher in Nebraska made a video using our song to educate his students about this little known slice of American History. Kind of interesting, and pretty well done. ‪The Orphan Train HD‬‏ - YouTube
