Tex, I have found the track for 2" fill and it's $3.50/ft. the 1" is about $2.50/ft. What's nice about the track is the variety of options and the way you can get the fabric tight to a corner/ceiling. How do you do it with the 1" wood?
Does anyone know a source for Stretch Fabric Extrusions (example: http://www.fabritrak.com/TrakProfiles.asp). There are a number of manufactures but they don't sell to individauls. These seems like a great way to cover walls. Just attach the extrusions, attach the sound proofing material Ie: OC...
Thank you all for your suggestions.
Steve, you may have noticed in my opening message that the studio I trained in used the 451 and that's why I bought one myself. (This studio is in CT so maybe it's the same one your talking about? The problem is the gain on the Mbox2 is almost maxed out to...
The one thing I have learned from reading all the threads on preamps is that there seems to be no consensus on what is the best way to go, but I thought I would try again...
My needs are simple as I am only interested in voice over recording. I have started with an Mbox2 and an AKG 451 mic. I...
Petsy and Ozraves, thanks for your suggestions. FV, yes, teach me how to compress the voice! This is all very new to me. I have started to play with the Pro Tools plug-in compressor, Dynamics III. There is also a DigiRack Dynamics II compressor - which I haven't played with. Again, I'm just...
Ford Van, thanks for the suggestion. I agree that the studio is doing "something" with the voice. I'm new at this and have played with the compressor a little bit, but I will work with it some more along your guidelines and will see what happens.
Frankly, I'm a little miffed by the responses. Almost everyone is talking about the mic yet it is the ONLY consistant piece of equipment between the two setups. (I'm not using any compression or filters) I understand that I would have to duplicate the professional studio EXACTLY to get the exact...
Depth, fullness, richness. My system sounds "thin". I have sound samples from both the studio and home so I am listening to them over the same monitors/headphones. It is a very distinct difference.
My mic is the same as the professional studios and mine has been tested in the professional...
I have started doing voice overs and I am very new to the industry and recording. I have started my set-up with a MBOX2, ProTools LE 7, and a AKG 451 mic. (The MBOX was a recommendation) All this is connected to my G4 Mac.
Everything works well but I'm not getting the depth to my voice that we...
