I swapped out the stock speaker in the XD with a Celestion V10. I also swapped out the existing 12ax7 with a faily new Mullard 12ax7 I had lying around. All I can say is wow. What a great sound. This is truly a great amp. It nails Fender clean, Vox crunch and hi-gain rock. Such authentic tone.

Any observations, thoughts, comments? How do they compare and contrast one another?

I noticed that a good number of condensor mics will record instruments decently but the quality of recording seems to fall off abit when being used for vocals. Have some of you in Home Rec'er land found that some condenser mics are better suited to vocals than others?

Has anyone who has recorded using both a decent sound card and a decent external box, ie. firewire, S/PDIF, noticed and difference in quality? I do not see how there could be a difference. If you have a sqeaky clean power supply in your computer it should not really matter. Bob the Mod Guy
