I collect mics, obviously. I like to collect the various Electro Voice models. I also will use a fair number of these day-to-day for work. Favorites are the AKG 535EB, Electro Voice 630, Neumann KM84, Shure KSM9 and KSM141. While I don't own any I have access to Shure Beta 57 and 58s and an Electro Voice RE-20. I like the
Shure Betas for a number of things and they look good on TV. Not a big fan of the RE-20 but it's a kick drum mic for me.
I buy and sell, I've had several other ribbon mics including an RCA BK-5, Shure 315 and 330 ribbons and a pair of
Cascade Fatheads
(I wish I had kept those). I want a pair of AEA's, someday perhaps. I've had a U-87 and a U47fet. I'd like to get back into the high end Neumanns with a pair of TLM 170s or TLM 193's.
Coolest mics in my collection are the "gold" ones, the restored 556 and of course the RCA 77DX.
Thanks for looking.
