When recording Channel #2 I'm getting a great signal, great sound in the phones. but on playback very faint sound. What could this be and more importantly...whats this gonna cost to get fixed??? help!
being new to the 424 mk III myself (as well as multi tracking of any kind) Ive run into all kinds of SNAFUs myself....
1) make sure the channel's input selector is on "TAPE"
2) make sure the "ASSIGN" and "LINE OUT" switches aren't off
3) make sure your channel and master levels are up
4) make sure all your connections in the back are ok

It appears I just didnt clean the heads good enough!1 I gave them a good scrubbing and demagnatized the heads...It appears to be working fine now! Alesson to us all!1 KEEP THE HEADS CLEAN!!
