Midi and syncing

You should try to go to the syncronization menu.

Here you can select the midi output to which the MPC2000xl can synced to. You should try either of the two sync out options though. You will find out soon enough.

Actually I figured out how to sync the mpc to be the slave of cubase. I also need for cubase to react to my mpc's command. Meaning when I press play on my MPC I want cubase to start playing. Is that possible. I believe it should be.
 
there is a way

You must make CUBASE be the slave and receive on certain midi channel, and make the MPC the master.

Go through the MPC's manual, I know it tells you in detail how to sync to external devices, or Control external devices/sequencers.
