Midi latency issue (playbak)

Hi! My name is Tony. I'm running Nuendo 3. I just got an M-Audio Axiom 49 key midi controller. when I play a VST instrument in Nuendo, I see that there is no latency in the input but I get a 1 second delay in the output. In other words it takes a second before I hear anything back. when I record, the midi maps on time and plays on time, but when I'm playing live- there is a one second delay. Do you know how I can fix this? I appreciate your time in reading this. Thanks!

Latency is caused by the soundcard and its drivers.

What soundcard are you using???? (We're not psychic...)
