Level meter numbers?!

hi all,

i have been using cubase for a while now and i've never been able to figure out how to get a db number from the level meters? i can get them going up and down with the monitor and play back fine.. but i dont have a numeric reference?!?

is there somewhere i can turn them on or am i being stupid looking for them...

Some of the cheaper versions of Cubase don't have numbers on the meters. For recording levels, you want the average level to wind up right in the middle of the meter.
 
Go to your mixer and on the left side panel choose "Show extended Mixer" then on the lower left side of the extended mixer choose "Show all Meters" You can also change the colors of the meters: upper left choose File/Preferences/Meters
