Free Cubase Plugins?

I'm new to Cubase, just got SX 3.0, and am having a blast with it...was formerly using ADATs...just wondering, I have heard from several people that a lot of good plugins and instrument samples can be downloaded as freeware at various spots on the web. Can anyone direct me to some good sites to check out?? I'm also new to the whole midi world and using samples to produce realistic sounding instruments. Any pointers to any FAQ's or tutorials would be much appreciated as well as where I can download some realistic sounding samples. Thanks for any help you can offer,
