so how is it? Any good? What does "sweepable" eq mean? Are all the outputs rca? I need to know because I'm going to hook it up to my fostex r8 (that has 1/4 outputs?) and I need to know what kind of patch bay cable snake I need.

I used to have a Fostex 450. If I remember right, the 450 has RCA direct outs and maybe even tape returns. If the R8 has 1/4" I/O, then you will need a 1/4" to rca snake. If you need a price quote on a quality premade snake with quality pugs, drop me a PM.
Sweepable EQ means that at least one of the EQ bands (usually the mids if nothing else) has a knob that allows you to vary the frequency around which that band of EQ effects. I believe on the 450 that the high and low frequencies are fixed, and the mid band is sweepable, but it has been years since I had my 450 so I could be mistaken.
