Hi there folks,

I'm currently owner of a Fostex 80 8 track reel to reel recorder and I want also buy a R8 reel to reel recorder.
I want these two machines run in sync.
What do I need for equipment to make this happen.

Thanks in advance for your answers...

ps. It seems that I'm the only one from Holland ?!

I had thought of trying this (I own an R8, and was thinking of buying another R8).

My advice is to get on the phone to Fostex and talk to them about it, but the impression I got is that you need to sacrifice one track from each machine for SYMPTE time code and use some kind of synching unit.

The little info I was able to gather indicated to me that such a setup would be very expensive, and only marginally stable.

I ended up buying a Fostex D-160 16-track hard disk recorder, and I'm totally loving it. I'd never go back to reel-to-reel.

Your Mileage May Vary,
