Multicore processors and Reaper

I read on the website that Reaper has "Advanced (highly effective) multi-processing support (can heavily utilize 2 or more processors)*"
But the small print...

* Subject to hardware limitations

So how much better is multicore with Reaper? I already got a 2.8 P4 with Hyperthreading. It was a great processor 5 years ago, and it still runs fine for most stuff, but I am wondering how much more I can really get out of an upgrade, in a strictly DAW environment.

I run this....

Intel Core 2 Duo
E8400 @ 3 GHz
2 GB RAM

I can easily playback 128 copies of a song, in wav format. I think I've done 256.

Anyway... I won't be maxing Reaper out anytime soon, but I do use a UAD card as well.

Not sure how much signifigance the 2 cores have in Reaper, but I do have it all setup so that Reaper can access both.

Good luck!
