Working with WAV files in Cakewalk/Sonar

Hi - I am new to this Forum , could someone help me with the following . I am also new to Cakewalk.

As we all know we can convert a typical audio CD track to a WAV file using typical Ripper Software.
Cakewalk allows WAV files to be imported .
What I need to know is , can I play around with the individual tracks when I import them . If so how. Thanks in advance guys.

If you are asking what I think you are asking, the answer is "no."

When you rip a CD you rip it to a stereo wave file. That will give you two tracks - a left and a right. If you're thinking you can get back to the individual tracks the way they were recorded (e.g., drums, bass, vocal, etc.) there's just no way.

Think of it like baking a cake. You start with eggs, flour, milk and sugar, which you mix together and bake. Once the cake is baked, you got cake. Never again will it be eggs, flour, milk or sugar.

You can mix the wav into an audio production. You could also sample it into sonar using a dxi such as kontact. But the question is somewhat open ended......
