I heard that you can use a 15 pin joystick port to use as midi i/o.. so i bough the cable.. now how do i set up windows 98/cakewalk home studio to recognize it? doo i need soem special soft ware.. what?

I assume you have a keyboard or other external device hooked up to the I/O of one end of the cable and the 15 pin plug into your sound card's MIDI/Joystick port.
In Cakewalk, go to "options" - "MIDI devices" and move your input device to the top. Cakewalk should have it listed. If this doesn't work for ya, maybe some more setup information would be helpful.
