copying of drumpatterns

Pardon a stupid question, but I´m completely new to computer sequencing. How does one "copy" a few bars of drums (or any other instrument) so that they go on for the rest of the song? Can someone help?

In cakewalk, you would have to select the clip you want to copy (click on it), select copy, then select paste. A dialogue should pop up, and you should be able to choose which track it is pasted to, what time it is pasted to, how many times it is pasted, etc...

experiment from that, it's hard to go into details, I'll post an example if you want.

You didn't mention whether you were creating
loopy MIDI or loopy audio. The difference being that with MIDI you just have to make sure all the events you want repeated are included in the clip you copy. With audio clips you have to find the right spot to split the .wav file before you can successfully loop it. A little experimentation should provide the right spot.

Thanks guys! I found out about clips a while ago, and I think I understand it now. However, there´s lots to learn.
