I have a Roland VS-2480 on order. I was notified today that they are shipping from Roland today and will be in the store on Wednesday.
The Akai is supposed to be delivered sometime in August. Which possibly means September or after.
I am starting to waffle a little on my decision to go with the Roland.
Has anybody done any reading up on these two machines? I would appreciate any input from you guys. I know some of you pros are not crazy about the all-in-one DAW's, but your input would be greatly appreciated.
Roland, I have heard, has effects that are elite to the Akai machines. However, the Akai has a lot that the Roland doesn't have, such as time stretch, pitch shift, etc.
Also from what I can tell, the Roland halves the track count when recording and playing back at 24/96, while the Akai does not.
What do you guys think. In your opinions, how do these two machines stack up against one another? Is the Akai worth waiting for?
