I was in a Billy Gibbons mood this week and so I recorded one of my favs from the ZZ Top Antenna album.

Pincushion - Love the lyrics too!
Here's my first mix.
Hows it sound so far?

 
Cool version EL34 - mix sounds good. I'm not familiar with the original but I would say that you done a good job at the ZZTop vibe. Pinch harmonics and long sustaining lead notes as well as smooth bluesy solo licks. I like the underlying guitar lick most apparent in the beginning. The snare is not my favorite tone, I like it a bit snappier? , but it's mixed in nicely. Again, just my persoanl taste here... Great delivery and recording overall...

If you can provide some guitar type/amp/effects details it would be cool !

Hey thanks again Ido, I always appreciate your listens.

You know, I took a compressor off the snare to soften it up, it was way more snappy before. Maybe I will do another mix with the snappy snare.
The original snare sound from the ZZ Top album was so wierd, I had no idea which way to go. Sounded more like a pile of marbles being smacked with a sack of horse crap.

Guitar rig2 used for guitar processing.
Mixcraft 3 for recording and mixing

im a real big zz top fan and i think you did this one right..

guitar tone is killer well done .. i know what you mean about the snare.. its a wierd snare .. i think you did it justice with this one though .. snappier might distract some of the guitar work.

Choose Save Target as

Save the file to your computer and then you can play it in your favorite player such as Winamp, Windows media player, I tunes, etc.
