I know there are post all over about this but I cant seem to get it working. Its drivin me nuts!
All I want to do is use the R16 as an interface. I had it recording in cubase but there was no audio while playing or playing back. There were waves recorded tho. The lights on the r16 light up when i play. AHHHHHH!
I am stuck!! I;m pretty neew to Cubase so any help is awesome.

So you have recorded to Cubase already and can't hear it? You need to set your output bus from Cubase in Devices>VST Connections to somewhere on the Zoom where you can hear it. Sorry I have no knowledge of the Zoom whatsoever. Good luck!

What are you trying to monitor on? Are you able to hear anything from Cubase?

I can hear imported files but I can't figure out how to use my interface properly.
I installed the drivers for it and I think I set it up in the device menu. My interface picks up the sound cuz I can see the lights light up. In cubase I could see the level meters moving but couldn't hear anything before or after trying to record. I'm pretty new to computer recording and any help at all would be very cool! Cheers.

Ok, I need you to be clear here. You can hear files imported into Cubase through the headphone output of the Zoom, but not what you are trying to record? First off describe what it is you are trying to record and give the steps you are taking. I looked through the manual for the Zoom and it seems pretty clear to me, though I have had quite a bit of time with Cubase. If you can hear files that were imported into Cubase, through the Zoom, then things are working from the Zoom end. You may need to toggle the monitor button (speaker looking icon on Cubase channel) or possibly select the correct output buss for the channel you are trying to record on. Select Devices>Mixer in Cubase. At the far right will be your Stereo Out. You can control where this outputs via Devices> VST Connections>Outputs tab (you will select your input busses here as well from the Zoom). Each track you create must have it's input and output buss selected from the Inspector window on left side of screen. Icons look vaguely like >] and [>. Defaults are typically mono in and stereo out.

Hope this gets you on your way. :D
