Hi all, just joined.
Last night I was booting up my Zoom MRS 1266 in ROM mode to use the USB interface to transfer songs onto my Mac. To do this, you switch it on and hold down a certain button; I held the wrong button and "OK'd" a Factory Format which wiped the entire contents of the Hard Disk.
I know it sounds ridiculous and it was very stupid, it was a late night of recording, I was tired and still hungover and I think I'm taking this rather well.
Anyway, I lost 2 and a half years of recording, around 80 or so projects, of which I have 6 on the computer. I'm dealing with that.
What I also seem to have lost is the system software that the MRS uses to boot up.
If I switch it on in normal mode, I get a System File Error message. When I boot it up in ROM mode, I get the two partitions of the Hard Disk appearing on my Desktop - MRS-FAC (The factory software) and MRS-USR (the user projects) both of these disks are completely empty.
Additionally, I can't run the Scan/Repair functions from the ROM utility screens and I can't seem to do any other format than the Factory Format I already accidently did.
Surely it can't be that easy to wipe even the factory based system software off the studio, if it is, where can I get the files? Could I install them using the USB interface with my computer.
If not, does anyone want to buy a £500 paper weight?
