I dropped it. About 3 feet, onto a hardwood floor, it was in it's plastic case.

and now... nothing, no lights, no start when I slide the 'start' switch. I changed the batteries. I tried starting it with the wall plug. nothing. There is nothing loose sounding when shaken(gentley). There is a slight mark on the corner of the platic case.

was that a $300.00 fumble?

anyone else ever dropped one?

Is it worth it to seek a service center? - there is one about 75 miles away.

That's a little scary. A piece of consumer gear should be able to take much more serious abuse than that—particularly inside a case. Hopefully it's just something simple like a cable inside that wasn't plugged in completely and got knocked loose in the fall.

That would be my guess as well! If it was me I would have already opened it to take a look around or gone on line for a schematic and try to trouble shoot possibilities.

If it's easy I'll take a look at mine tomorrow if I can successfully get it open.
