Just bought this recorder and have a few questions about how to use it in certain situations.
1. On the bottom of the recorder it says: "XLR: Mic / TRS: Line". Am I understanding it right that when I am using external mics with XLR connection to use the XLR input, but let's say I am recording from a soundboard that has a 1/4' output, should I be using the "Line In" input on the Zoom? Or does it matter (I have a XLR > 1/4" adapter) ? If I need to use "Line In", if I get a 3.5MM cord with a dual splitter and 1/4" adapters for them, will that work for capturing soundboard recordings?
2. Can this recorder capture audio from a mixer with a USB Type C cord? I know a musician who is buying a new mixer and it can connect to a device using a Type C Cord to get multi-tracks. Can this recorder capture each of those on individual tracks using that Type C cord? Or is the DC5V adapter only for power/data transfer?
I hope these questions make sense, any help would be appreciated.
