Just bought one of these for 300 bucks. I wanted to use it for portable ideas, quick sketches of songs, and solo guitar pieces with no overdubs. I have an interface, Cubase SE etc. set up at home, so I just wanted something small and simple...

...And I have to say, I'm impressed. 4 tracks, phantom power, and an inbuilt pair of matched condensers. (Proper small diaphragm condensers, not just a plastic grille that you sing into). The amp simulators and effects that come with it as standard are pretty cool, and it's bundled with Cubase LE. All in all, I'm as happy as a pig in shit. 2 AA batteries and a set of headphones, and I can bring this thing anywhere. It's tiny.

Seems to have gotten good reviews too except when plugging in external mics. Appears the preamps might be lacking but this is a $300 unit. Still, all seem to really like the built in mics. I'm seriously looking at this one for quick live band recording. Keep us up to date on how it works out.

Yeah, I read that. I haven't tried external mics on it yet - the inbuilt ones sound pretty good. I was also quite impressed by the amp simulators on it for recording a guitar plugged straight into it. Quick band recording would be great on it.
