i love negative rep
zildjian zxt titanium
a ballanced perspective

don't bother with these
don't ask why i have them
just don't ever buy them

Drill rivets into them, if you don't care. At least you can make some groovy shaky sounds with them. Or get a big drum kit ala neil peart, and put them in the back row of your kit, show them off just to the shiny-ness. ... being Half-full :D

They look cool, but it's just a case of Zildjian trying to polish a turd - only this time, they coated it in Titanium. I guess you could turn them into electric cymbals by mounting triggers under them.
You know it's pretty bad when an electric cymbal sounds better than the real one. :D

Zildjian had a Nickle/chrome line back in the 80's, and they were KILLER, but evidently they had problems with the finish flaking off of them, so they quit making them. But they were just A's , but looked like Mirrors.

I have a 17" platnium A zildjian crash, (early 90's) I was tempted by the shiny silver goodness. It sounds ok, but it's definately eye-candy. Nothing compared to my A customs. Which I adore. It's now collecting dust.

good idea! might as well use them for something.

oh and flakeing, theese do that too.

Why buy them in the first place? If you want to see if your gunna stick with an instrument then buy something like sabian solars. They're crap but very very cheap.

ZXT Titaniums are the next stage up but still sound like crap and now aren't so cheap. For not much more money you could by yourself a very nice cymbal, a 15" A Customs is only £22 more than a 15" ZXT. But you can't even compare them. An extra £22 buys you a lovley professional cymbal that sounds amazing. For being tight, your settleing for a crap, half hearted cymbal that may look cool and fancy. But sounds like poop.

So i put it to you, why do people buy these cymbals?

Agreed.

The china is downright painful!

Not sure what thy were shooting for with the titainium series..

Yeh, i saw that. But i was thinking about everybody. I addressd the question to everybody. But seriously, why do you have them? What's your reasoning for owning them?

I checked Musician's Friend, and here are the reviews. OK, I've tried em out at Sam Ash several times, and they sound like shit. WHY DO PEOPLE LIKE THEM? I mean... K Customs and A Customs are nice, (i hate Z Customs though), but these titanium shits are NOT worth the money.
I mean... we are talking about ZXT Titaniums, right? Maybe I looked up the wrong thing... I dont think so... After I decided to get serious with durmming, I just got soem used Paiste Signatures (xept one 2000 series 20"Power crash, which is VERY nice, and a 3000 18" Novo China, which is also quiet nice).
Use the cymbals as decorations... hang them in your room... try to get good lighting on them... would look quiet funky ;-).

May 10, 2005 - These are some sweet cymbals. I got them with my new drumset. They sound great and are nice and loud. They look amazing too with a black set. I don't know how some people break cymbals in a month. You have to hit them as hard as you can and actually try to break them. Very durable.

Apr 18, 2005 - I got these with my ludwig set and was very pleased. The ride seems a little too loud, and the price a little high, but other than that a good set of cymbols for a beginner/intermediate. The crash and high-hats are awesome. I recommend them greatly.

Apr 10, 2005 - These cymbals are sick. Each cymbal sounds very professional. They are also nicely priced for those who are on a budget but want to sound pro. these are a complement to any drum kit.

Apr 9, 2005 - If you are rock drummer, Don't bother. The Crash, Hi Hat, and Splash are all completely broken. The Edges are bent after not more then one month of playing them. For Jazz or something where you won't be playing the cymbals as hard, they sound pretty good. but be warned. It will not take long for these to break at all.

Feb 20, 2005 - I bought this set and I plan on rounding it out by purchasing the total china and the 18 inch thin crash within the next 2 weeks. These look and sound amazing. Plus throw in a bunch of freebies and you got yourself one heck of a bargain here! If you have been thinking about it, just do it..you'll be happy.

Feb 18, 2005 - i like these cymbals. they are different than what im used to playing. the crash is a little overbearing but its good for heavy rock bands who play loud. the hi hats have a different sound than im used to playing on but im used to playing on regular style cymbals once again i would not reccomend these cymbals for playing jazz mainly rock and loud rock too the ride cymbal. tip: for different sounds put the cymbal at different angles if you have a boom stand i would not get this set unless you were serious about drumming

Jan 29, 2005 - These cymbals have great punchy sounds to them, but do not last long under a lot of playing. It's quite pricey when my crash cracked in about 5 places after a few months. I have not had much experience with the ride though. The only real high quality item are the hi-hats. If you're a beginner, these cymbals are great for you. If you're not, I recommend you go with the K Customs. It's not worth it to get cheaper cymbals. All in all, these cymbals are decent. The Hat beats them all.

Dec 24, 2004 - The greatest cymbal set up of all time! The crashes are strong and powerful when they need to be. Not only do you get a good excellent splash, but the free gear like the shirt and the cymbal bag makes it much more sweeter! The best cymbals for all makes of music! Even though the cost is kinda iffy, it is WELL WORTH IT!!!!!!

Oct 26, 2004 - Awesome cymbal pack. The sound of all of these cymbals are very crisp and profound. The crash has a power explosive sound, splash quick cutting effect (excellent), Ride nice tonal groove and High Hats great crisp response. If you are desiring to buy a great cymbal pack, this is the pack to get.

Sep 29, 2004 - I have this set and they're really sweet. I was suprised by how good the hi hats sound, and the splash is just about as good as my Avidas splash. ride is good. crash is a little heavy, but still pretty sweet. awesome color. zildjian. thats all you realy need to hear, right? The brand says it all!

Usually when I hear people say "don't buy this because it's is crap" I don't really pay much attention but now I may start to listen. I had read on a lot of forums that the ZBT line of cymbals was pretty bad but I thought that if Zildjian made them they can't be that bad. Boy was I wrong. I was in a music store that sells used stuff and I went into the cymbal room and started playing around and came across a ZBT crash and it sounded so bad. The cheap cymbal that came with the used Hohner drum kit I got for $100 blows it away. I can't imagine how bad the hi hats sound. When it's time to upgrade I will stay away from budget cymbals.
I don't know enough about drums so I will listen to the advice of experienced drummers and when they say don't buy the ZXT Titaniums I won't.

and who are the idiots reviewing them
they odviously don't know poo

and, for the record
the set was payment for money owed to me,
he's a good friend and wasn't trying to give me crap, just got me what he thought was the best he could for the money
(he worked at git center so he got them extra cheep, and thare still not worth it)
