I'm a newbie with sampled drums, and I've been hearing good things about the Zildjian Z Pack series. I was looking at the Vol. I (A series), but the $180 price tag put me off until I stumbled across a store on ebay selling them for dirt cheap. I figured I'd pick it up and check it out; but while I wait for it to arrive, I was wondering to hear what any of you might have to say about the software/samples? Are they killer? Or did I just waste $33? Haha.

for 33 bucks you could do worse. However zildjian Z's are also the worst cymbals I have ever heard. Actually I heard a set of Tama cymbals that sounded worse but thats besides the point. I have experience with the 16 inch rock crash. It's very loud and sounds more like a china than a crash. I suppose your Z could make a good accent piece.

All one has to do to get an idea of how Zs sound is go hit some in a guitar center.

They really are just terrible.
